Gable triangle interpreted in a contemporary way
An age-old winemaking tradition was successfully revived in 2015 with the establishment of the Világi winery in Chľaba, southern Slovakia. A new production and sales building was built in the middle of the vineyard's vines, and a guest house was also built at the top of the slope. The architecture of the Slovakian firm Adif creates an exciting architectural framework for the young company with its modern wines.
The architects took their cue from the building type of old wineries, which they interpreted in a contemporary and minimalist formal language. The archaic basic form of the gable triangle is given a clear, sharp-edged line by the roofing and the facade cladding with RHEINZINK-prePATINA graphite-grey. The completely concealed roof drainage system is also subordinate to this precision: The water is collected in invisible rain gutters at the eaves and below the parapet and drained via downpipes in the façade.
The partially very flat roof pitches and the exposed location on the slope required special safety measures. Thus, the 500 mm wide shares were laid on the structured RHEINZINK VAPOZINC® separating layer and the seams were executed with sealing strips. The bolted fastening with RHEINZINK-stainless steel fasteners ensures permanent wind suction resistance even in exposed building locations due to the defined load absorption.
Since the completion of the new buildings in 2020, a modern setting has been available for atmospheric tastings and direct sales. Both the guest house and the gastronomy on the roof terrace of the sales building offer a unique view of the vineyards and the Danube.
