The Friedrichshof in the Mecklenburg Lake District is more than just an architectural gem. It is a retreat steeped in centuries of history, a place where family comes together, where sustainable building practices are upheld, and where tranquillity reigns. “From the very beginning, our vision was to create a place where people could come together,” explains Ben Künkler, who developed the project alongside his wife and now runs it. “A space that fosters connection – with nature, with oneself and with others.” The family first came across the plot back in 2016 – at that time, it was still a field.
